Former student, researcher charged in pig bacteria mishap

State budget cuts put funding for 'U' events, museum in doubt

State funding cuts have snuck up on the Dinosaurs towering over visitors the MSU Museum and are dancing with the MSU Museum Folk Festival and the East Lansing Art Festival, both known for bringing in thousands to East Lansing each summer. Arts programs are facing a possible 50-percent cut to the $22.6 million grants given out by the Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs which is proposed to be eliminated with Gov.

Slater, Liles, Fast named to CCHA first team

Museum plays off March obsession with hoops

Lansing - Just in time for March Madness, a new exhibit in downtown Lansing is showing off Michigan's basketball heritage. "Hometown Hoops," at the Michigan Historical Museum, contains more than 100 items of basketball memorabilia from state high schools - schools where many MSU stars began their rise to the top. "This project took about two years to put together," museum Director Phil Kwiatkowski said.

E-mail system debuts, will replace Pilot

For a few hours, users of MSU's Pilot e-mail system had a new option for checking their messages. A new Web site that will replace the 10-year-old Pilot system was unofficially launched Wednesday afternoon.
