E.L. School Board to close Spartan Village Elementary, restructure district

Parents hung their heads low Monday after the East Lansing School Board approved the closure of Spartan Village Elementary School and the restructuring of the district's elementary schools."I just feel empty and drained and tired," Janet Navarro, an elementary school parent, said as she left the meeting.The school board voted 5-2 to close the school next fall and to change the district's six elementary schools into four kindergarten through fourth grade schools and two fifth and sixth grade schools.

The social relations and Spanish freshman joined the MSU student group RESULTS earlier this school year to fight for more action in Congress. RHA elects Daddow to executive board

Kristin Daddow will be stepping up to the Residence Halls Association executive board as external vice president in the fall. Daddow said she would fulfill the position's requirements as a communicator and coordinator within and outside of the organization, putting her employment and education skills to work. Elections lasted the majority of the meeting Wednesday at Holden Hall, which ran for six hours. The three other candidates included Director for Treasuries and Allocations Julie Hughes, and general assembly members Erik Green and Courtney Smith.
