Vote motivation

Votergasm.org might be rife with crude, sexually-explicit drawings, photos of scantily-clad women and promises of action for people who vote, but people who take the Web site too seriously need to re-evaluate why they don't think it's funny. No one is going to run home to their dorm, log onto the Web site, make a pledge to sex up other voters and dance around screaming, "I'm gonna get some" in front of their computer monitor.

EDITOR'S NOTE

You. Yeah, you. Want to have your voice heard this election year? Now's your chance. The State News is seeking six MSU students for its Debate Watch 2004 panel.

FOOTBALL

A hard day's night

The MSU offense turned the ball over six times, the wide receivers dropped passes and an offensive touchdown wasn't scored until the last minute of the game. New Izzone ticket policy 'status quo'

In an attempt to bring together MSU students, the athletics department has allowed the Izzone to take over the student sections at the men's home basketball games while subordinating the students who have previously spent multiple years attending games in the upper bowl.

Riverwalk play makes audience leave at intermission

It would be generous to call "Marat/Sade" a bad play. A disaster is a more suitable definition for what the audience at the Riverwalk Theatre, 228 Museum Drive, in Lansing, endured Saturday night. The theater's choice to start its season with a drama and musical such as "Marat/Sade" was a horrible decision.

Beast of burden

When the National Center for Public Policy and Higher Education gives America a collective "F" in the subject of college affordability, it creates a need for people to realize that current problems in higher education can't be reduced to just one letter. College today is hard to pay for, but there are a course-load of reasons Michigan and 36 other states flunked.
