Initially, some of journalism Assistant Professor Kim Piper-Aiken's students believed she was being ousted from her teaching position.

Students celebrate heritage

Neeti Chokshi began a classical Indian dance class when she was 6 years old. Her mother, an immigrant from India, enrolled her in the class so she could understand the importance of her culture through dancing. Fourteen years later, Chokshi, an accounting junior, helped choreograph an event to reaffirm her love and devotion to her culture — Satrang, an annual cultural show to be performed Saturday. "I am so glad she has recognized her Indian culture even though she is so busy with school and her classes," said her mother, Daksha Chokshi.

I am a third-year student at MSU. Yesterday was the third time I had to empty all the e-mails I have sent in my MSU e-mail because of its limited storage. Instructors and university officials choose to use MSU e-mail to contact students.
