'Friendly skies' not so cordial

The act of traveling the “friendly skies” is just not an activity to take lightly anymore. So what has happened to air travel across the nation? Over the past 40 years the great flightless population of the U.S. has gravitated from the large dogs of the roadways, Greyhound, to this new Greyhound for the skies — United, Delta, Northwest and all the various “no frills” or “cheap” carriers.

Student government debates water quality

Nirali Patel will not touch MSU’s water. “MSU’s water is horrible,” the physiology sophomore said. “Black specks come out of the faucet when you turn it on, it tastes like iron and it creates a yellow rust. ...”

Too little, too late

When it seemed top-ranked Ohio State had MSU beaten into submission, the Spartans made it clear on Saturday that they were going to fight to the finish. “Every game, we know as a team we can play with anybody in the country,” senior linebacker SirDarean Adams said.

Police Brief 10/22/07

A 38-year-old female was punched in the face early Friday morning by a drunken student after he walked in front of the victim’s car and began pushing down on its hood, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.
