Business college hopes to grow with new dean

After months of searching, MSU’s Eli Broad College of Business will have a chance to break new ground if Stefanie Lenway is approved as the new dean. Lenway, currently the dean of the University of Illinois at Chicago, or UIC, College of Business Administration, would be the first female dean in the history of MSU’s Eli Broad College of Business.

I guess it’s a good thing that Eric Thieleman is indifferent to torture, because getting through his most recent column was just that. It was so bloated with generic political invective I could have sworn that it was pieced together from crumpled up pieces of paper from Glenn Beck’s wastebasket.

Although East Lansing Mayor Vic Loomis made an appearance at the rock on Farm Lane to encourage students to complete the 2010 U.S. Census as residents of East Lansing, it is in students’ best interest to thoroughly think through their answers.

FRIB gets $10M in Obama's proposal

President Barack Obama requested $10 million in his proposed 2011 budget to fund MSU’s future Facility for Rare Isotope Beams. University officials said the project is progressing as expected.

Gubernatorial candidates report campaign finances

Republican candidate Rick Snyder leads all candidates with $3.3 million raised, but $2.6 million of that came from his own pocket. Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox trails Snyder with $1.83 million, while the only announced Democratic candidate, state Rep. Alma Wheeler Smith, D-Salem Township, has raised $36,245.
