E.L. unable to offer housing options for MSU fraternities

As Lambda Chi Alpha signed a lease Monday to rent the former Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity house, East Lansing officials and members of the greek community questioned whether the city is capable of sustaining MSU’s greek system. City officials said there are no parcels of land near campus large enough to build new fraternity homes, and there are very few houses that can accommodate growing fraternities.

Police brief 04/01/10

A 19-year-old male MSU student reported his laptop stolen from his Wilson Hall dorm room on Friday, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. The student said he left his dorm room unattended to go visit someone down the hall. When he returned to his room, the laptop was stolen.

Student judiciary discusses COGS

A student judiciary board hearing involving two former student government officials was held Tuesday evening, although the meeting was closed to the public and its outcome will not be known until the end of the week. The hearing occurred a year after a report leveling allegations against Manish Madan, former president of the Council of Graduate Students, or COGS, surfaced during a meeting to elect the group’s executive board.
