Michigan lawmakers moved another step closer to finalizing a texting while driving ban Tuesday in the state House. The House passed the bill, 74-33, agreeing with the Senate to make texting while driving a primary offense.

After meeting 12-year-old Mohammed in Iraq, Maj. David Howell did everything in his power to bring the boy to the U.S. and provide him with medical attention for burns suffered in a house fire as a child. East Lansing City Council could decide on a site plan to convert the Lambda Chi Fraternity house, 128 Collingwood Drive, into a 15-room, high-end apartment complex during its Tuesday meeting. The site plan was debated at the April 8 Historic District Commission meeting, where the commission urged Troy, Mich., developer Dale Inman to request a certificate of appropriateness from the city.
