Spring cleaning

With the transition of seasons, melting snow has unveiled heaps of trash that have accumulated during the winter months, resulting in a plethora of the all-too-familiar pink warning slips on doors throughout East Lansing. LCC student Chaen Mercer’s co-op was one East Lansing residencies recently tagged with such a warning for having excessive litter.

Accounts of ASMSU unfrozen

After three weeks of meetings between ASMSU officials and university administrators, ASMSU’s accounts have been unfrozen. ASMSU is MSU’s undergraduate student government. Denise Maybank, senior associate vice president of Student Affairs and Services, said she issued a memo to ASMSU on Friday afternoon indicating it had come back into compliance with the accountability measures. “Their accounts, as far as the accountability measures, the freeze and the suspension have been removed with the correspondence I just sent them,” she said. Maybank said she unfroze the accounts because ASMSU had taken steps to address concerns administrators had about ASMSU’s relationship with the university.

Few turn out to Cedar Village during weekend

Although a small crowd gathered in Cedar Village on Saturday, police dispersed of festivities during the NCAA Final Four Tournament weekend. Crowds who gathered on the sidewalks were told to move along by the East Lansing Police Department, or ELPD, and members of DTN Management Co., owners of Cedar Village Apartments.

Fundraiser held for sick children

On Saturday, about 75 MSU students felt the pain of Ethan Fox. As a baby, Fox was diagnosed with epidermolysis bullosa, a disease that causes the skin to blister easily under friction or stress, which means an action as simple as walking can lead to pain.

Student-produced sitcom celebrates 80th episode with nostalgia

Lauren LoGrasso wasn’t saying goodbye to a character she played — she was saying goodbye to a companion on Saturday. The theatre senior parted ways with Nina Acropolis, the slightly offensive but well-intentioned college girl in “The ShoW,” the longest-running college sitcom in the country. “The ShoW” shot its 80th and final episode of the semester Saturday in front of a live audience of family, friends and MSU alumni.
