Houselights: We're back with our Halloween episode!

Happy Halloween! We're back after a little break, and in the spirit of Halloween, we're going to talk about our plans we have for Halloween and what we did to celebrate Halloweekend. We're also going to give our thoughts on "1989 (Taylor's version)."

MSU

Associated Students of MSU calls on board to release Nassar documents

“The lack of transparency with these documents shows a blatant lack of respect for all survivors on campus, those who have the right to know how these gross injustices were condoned for so long at the school we trust with our safety,” ASMSU's statement said. “It displays a tragic disregard for the students who continue to suffer relationship violence and sexual misconduct crimes on campus with no administrative acknowledgment of their role in cultivating this culture on campus."

FOOTBALL

'Spoiling means you’re a scrub, and I ain’t a scrub:' Harlon Barnett looking to end losing streak on Senior Day

Interim head coach Harlon Barnett and MSU football have yet to find success in the six games he has been at the helm. This weekend though, he has a chance to send the seniors out on a winning note against Nebraska for their last game at Spartan Stadium, and Barnett has been nothing but positive with his guys in order to keep the mood in the locker room from derailing.

STUDENTS

Students discuss Halloween costume predictions, pop culture impacts

More often than not, these costumes can usually fit into two categories: recent pop culture references or Halloween "classics." But how do college students find a costume that is either classic or super niche? Does pop culture have an impact on what students choose to wear?

MEN'S BASKETBALL

MSU men's basketball's slow start in exhibition loss to No. 9 Tennessee offers team learning

Exhibition games are built to be a learning experience for everyone involved. Players, coaches, referees—everybody has something they can take out of the experience of an exhibition game. Michigan State men’s basketball’s high-intensity exhibition game against No. 9 Tennessee felt a little more like a late-March tournament battle than a game with no stakes. The game came down to the very last second when the Volunteers were able to pull ahead by one point for an 89-88 victory over the Spartans.
