Dave's Hot Chicken spices up East Lansing's dining landscape

Despite contending with Michigan's unpredictable weather and the looming threat of a winter storm, the East Lansing community enthusiastically gathered to celebrate the grand opening of Dave's Hot Chicken this Friday. Located just off Grand River Ave, the restaurant beckons with a tempting array of chicken-based meals, complemented by an assortment of sides and unique drinks. The fast-casual restaurant chain originated in California and established its sixth Michigan location in East Lansing. Although the official grand-opening festivities took place on Friday, the restaurant quietly opened its doors earlier.

How students, community members advocate for change through MLK Day march

Since the rise of the Civil Rights Movement in 1954, protest marches have long been a form of activism in fighting to end racial segregation and exclusion. It was at the historic March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, held in 1963, where Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered the exalted "I Have a Dream" speech. Communications senior and member of Alpha Phi Alpha Brandon Foster will be the coordinator for the 2024 MLK Commemorative March. For Foster, who was also coordinator last year, the march "means a lot to him" because it brings diversity, equity and inclusion within MSU.
