Good habits easily fall by the wayside

It wasn’t always like this. I honestly used to eat a lot healthier. When I was running cross country and playing softball and soccer throughout high school, I had to think a lot more about what I was eating. And that meant eating a good breakfast, a balanced lunch and, of course, a home-cooked meal by my mom at the end of the day. I got a lot more sleep, a lot more exercise and was not surrounded by the temptations of alcohol 24 hours a day. How so much changes in not even three years. Now I struggle to make time for coffee in the morning, and I think I may have eaten breakfast four times this entire year.

Amadi had an internship with Warner Brothers Music Group in New York City during the spring and with Interscope Records in Detroit last fall. Sheree Bell is the associate director of marketing for Warner Brothers Music Group. “He has this passion for music and this willingness to want to learn and grow in this industry,” she said.

Record follows stereotype

Here we go again. It’s nice to see artists out there still playing rock ’n’ roll writing their own music and attempting something other than the mainstream - but being able to differentiate between a band’s songs is key as well.

Band strikes a chord on disc

Improvisation is key to a band’s aura. If it can occasionally jump off its routine and veer off on some random tangent, that’s when the true spirit of the artist is showcased. Ekoostik hookah’s seventh disc is a laid-back record infused with random jaunts of improvisation at its best. It fuses a Stevie Ray Vaughn vocal influence with an old-school bluegrass tinge. It has plenty of breakdowns and the album’s motivation is built in its overall simplicity.
