As of Monday, Nov. 30, Michigan had up to 360,449 COVID-19 cases with 9,134 deaths. There were 5,793 new cases reported and a record 190 deaths Tuesday.

The month of November has seen a total of 29 deaths to date, up from 23 in October and 10 the two months prior. This total in a single month is just one death less than the entire five-month span between March and July, which reported a cumulative total of 30 deaths.
The resolution was approved unanimously on Tuesday night declaring racism a public health crisis. Furthermore, the resolution also acknowledges and adopts March 25 as an international day of remembrance for victims of the Trans-Atlantic slave passage.
Employees did not see any weapons, and no one was injured as a result of the incident.

On Saturday, police received notification that Michael McKerchie was in Eaton Rapids, Michigan. A local officer spotted the vehicle and attempted to stop it, according to the release.

As coronavirus cases are reaching record-high numbers, a bipartisan group of governors — including Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer — released a video urging residents to mask up and stay safe ahead of the holiday season.
A group of restaurant and hospitality associations filed on Tuesday to remove restrictions imposed by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s Nov. 15 emergency order banning indoor dining for the next three weeks, seeking a preliminary injunction.
In the past week alone, COVID-19 cases in Ingham County have risen by 1,173, daily case counts are nearly twice as high as they were a month ago and the percent of people positive for COVID-19 has more than doubled in the past month.
While all office closures will initially be in place for three weeks, they may be extended based on the status of coronavirus cases and public health directives, according to a press release.
“Our word for today is unprecedented,” NextGen Michigan Press Secretary Lateshia Parker said in an email. “This year has been unprecedented for us all, but the turnout of young voters has been unprecedented to the state and country.”
In a release sent Monday, Sparrow Health System expressed a strong support for the newly issued emergency order, stating adhering to it is critical in addressing the surge of positive COVID-19 cases.
The letter issued on behalf of the Michigan Bureau of Elections said the short timeframe given for a reply is “unduly burdensome."
