An unidentified group has painted over a memorial at the rock on Farm Lane for 8-year-old Spartan basketball fan Lacey Holsworth. Rumors circulated Thursday night that the messages for Lacey Holsworth on the rock on Farm Lane were painted over by one of MSU's fraternities, but State News reporters have verified the signatures are still there.The Rock was painted when public policy senior Brooke Corbin and kinesiology junior Danielle Bott set up a candlelight vigil event to honor Lacey on April 9, the day after she died from a rare form of cancer.Hundreds gathered to honor Lacey, including head basketball coach Tom Izzo and men’s basketball players Denzel Valentine, Matt Costello, Brandon Dawson and Lacey's "big brother" Adreian Payne.“In 30 years, I’ve never been prouder of a group of students than I am now," Izzo said.Both that night and in the days following, students have honored Lacey by painting messages to her on the Rock.
