Comley follows college hockey recruiting trend

After last season’s debacle, MSU head coach Rick Comley has a new policy on recruiting. Instead of looking for flashy, young players, Comley is after a different type of player best summed up in three words — bigger, stronger and older.

Despite leading by as many as 13 in the first half, the MSU women’s basketball team collapsed in the second half, shooting 21.2 percent and allowing Indiana to grab a late lead it would never relinquish in a 68-63 loss to the Hoosiers on Sunday afternoon at Breslin Center.

Dantonio: Suspended players out for bowl game

Head football coach Mark Dantonio broke his public silence to reporters at an impromptu news conference Saturday at the Skandalaris Football Center and addressed the disciplinary action against the players suspended for their involvement in the Nov. 22 assault at Rather Hall.

In one of the biggest games of their careers, three MSU women’s basketball team senior captains came up huge for MSU. It started with forward Aisha Jefferson’s hustle and tenacity in the first half.

Defensive end brings drive, smarts to MSU

Even on Thanksgiving, Taylor Calero was lifting weights and training to make up for lost time. Calero, a linebacker for Southfield Christian High School, missed most of his senior season after a sports hernia that occurred in March was misdiagnosed.

Rivalry with Carolina continues tonight

A rivalry has been developing between the basketball programs at MSU and North Carolina the past few seasons. Tuesday the Tar Heels men’s basketball team continued its dominance by beating MSU for the third time in the past two seasons.

Women's hoops offers free tickets

The MSU women’s basketball team announced Wednesday that fans who show their MSU Federal Credit Union credit/debit card at the Breslin Center ticket office today will receive two free tickets to tonight’s 8:30 p.m. game between No. 22 MSU and No. 4 North Carolina.
