Powwow celebrates Ojibwe

Nichole Shepherd has danced to heal people in need ever since the idea came to her in a dream 10 years ago. “I had a dream about it, and if you dream about it, you’re supposed to do it,” said Shepherd, an English doctoral student enrolled in an Ojibwe language course. Shepherd performed the women’s jingle dress dance, a healing dance, during the seventh annual Ojibwe Language Pow Wow in Snyder-Phillips Hall Auditorium on Saturday.

Board of Trustees preview

Renovations to two residence halls and a proposed loan increase to finance MSU in Dubai will highlight the MSU Board of Trustee meeting today. The board’s decisions will involve more than $9 million in imporvements to Holden Hall, more than $12 million in upgrades to Mary Mayo Hall.

MSU seeks loan increase for Dubai campus development

MSU in Dubai is seeking authorization for a $1.5 million increase to its loan maximum on the project, which officials said would allow for more flexibility in potential future expansion of the program. The MSU Board of Trustees will vote at its meeting Friday on whether to increase the loan maximum from $3.5 million to $5 million.
