The U.S. Supreme Court declined Michigan State University's appeal to hear the lawsuit from members of the women's swim and dive team. MSU is disappointed by the decision because of a disagreement on how Title IX should be interpreted.
MSU DPPS received a report of a carjacking that occurred along West Circle Drive near the Main Library around midnight on Friday.
“Winterizing is just an important part of taking care of a garden traditionally and both in terms of horticultural and agricultural sciences,” Gliniecki said. “The Anishinaabe perspective of it is that the ground and all the creatures in the ground need time to do their magic, which will feed the plants, which also aligns really nicely with modern western science views on how to care for soil and to regenerative soil practices.”
“We want to make sure residents have the best information on how to operate these machines because they are commercial laundry machines," Balks said. "Sometimes students may not realize they need to check a tag for if something can go in the dryer or they may be used to being able to fill up machines more at home than they can in here."

“Getting the education and outreach out there to educate farmers on how to appropriately apply fertilizer and best conserve their own land — that's literally the best thing that you can do,” Crank said. "It's better for the people who are eating their crops, and it's better for the people who want to be able to use our waterways for recreation.”

A bakery, a vegan sauce line, a portable soup company: At MSU, student-created food startups have found their place in the Venture Kitchen, a fully licensed professional kitchen space on the second floor of the Union.
The MSU Operations Center will provide 24/7 monitoring capabilities, 2,000 campus-wide security cameras, electronic control access to buildings and more all under one roof.

“I don’t see many people that look like me — that was actually something that discouraged me to go into politics because it wasn’t that prominent to see Black women in the political field, or if there were there weren't many of us,” Bender said. “Like OK, I can actually be prosperous in my field as well, like if she can do it, I know I can do it too.”
“When we found out that the spring incoming class was, like fall, unexpectedly large … we recognized that we would not be able to house that number of students, just based on what we knew about how many students were probably leaving after fall semester, and what spaces we'd have available,” Balks said.
In their first full production after the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, student-run theater company Second Stage Productions will perform the Rocky Horror Show on Dec. 9 and 10 at MSU.
ASMSU prepares for a bill-filled last general assembly of the semester at the committee meetings. The last general assembly meeting of the semester will take place on Dec. 8 in the International Center room 115 at 7 p.m.
The final defendant charged with making fraudulent claims to the Healing Fund has been sentenced to 365 days in jail and $191,000 in restitution.
The Office of Spartan Experiences will be hosting “Countdown to Close-Out,” a campus-wide interactive and collaborative event to close out this fall semester. Students can participate in engaging activities between Dec. 4 - Dec. 9.

"I think indigenous voices are starting to be heard a little bit more and supported in the sense of acknowledging Indigenous Peoples Day and acknowledging our Native Heritage Month and being a little bit more visible when we are acknowledging Native Heritage Month as well," Sorroche said.
