Student showcases love of jazz with original songs

Jazz studies senior Olin Clark has been playing and writing music since he first received a guitar for his 13th birthday. Though he admittedly had no idea what he was doing at the time, Clark has since gone from writing beginner’s music for guitar to writing full nonet jazz pieces.

Kindness and courage. These two words personified Charlie Waller. Although Charlie, the son of MSU history professor John Waller, passed away Dec. 5, 2013, from cancer at the age of five, no one could have predicted the impact Charlie would have on the East Lansing and MSU communities.

Activists prepare for Valentine's Day domestic violence march

Participants will meet at the rock on Farm Lane at noon Saturday to participate in the protest, and are encouraged to wear pink or red. Protesters are expected to leave the rock using Farm Lane, and turn left on Grand River Avenue. The march is expected to end at the Brody neighborhood complex in front of The Kellogg Center, premed sophomore and co-president of SFC Cayley Winters said.
