Greek Life hosts Safe Halloween for local kids

Grand River and M.A.C. avenues were taken over by zombies, princesses and superheroes Thursday evening as MSU’s greek community and East Lansing businesses welcomed families to a safe Halloween environment.

Sen. Carl Levin discusses Senate, 2012 election

Michigan Sen. Carl Levin, D-Detroit, was in town Wednesday touring MSU facilities and visiting businesses in the Lansing area. Levin, who is chairman of the Senate Committee on Armed Services and is a member of the Great Lakes Task Force, is the longest-serving U.S. senator from Michigan, after being elected in 1978.

East Lansing unable to fund carousel alone

In the midst of Tuesday’s East Lansing City Council work session items, one bullet point on this week’s agenda stuck out among the others: the discussion regarding submitting a proposal to the MSU Museum to lease the nearly century-old Crystal carousel within the city.

Dept. head, colleagues remember professor

If chemistry professor Gregory Baker’s colleagues had to choose one word to describe him, they would pick integrity. “Greg was a person who you could always trust, and he was somebody (who) you’d always know … was being honest with you,” said chemistry professor Gary Blanchard, one of Baker’s colleagues.
