MSU has its third commitment of the 2026 class, 4-star shooting guard Jasiah Jervis.

Delivering a heartfelt speech reflecting on his time at Archbishop Stepinac during his commitment ceremony, Jervis shuffled between hats representing his final four teams before thrusting open his varsity jacket to reveal Michigan State as his choice for the 2026 season.

Now landing vows from three top-100 players, the No. 38 recruit in the nation according to 24/7 sports, Jervis, will join Carlos Medlock Jr. and Julius Avent for the coming season.

MSU now owns the best 2026 class in the Big Ten and the No. 4 class nationally.

In high school, Jervis’s main weapon was his shooting. Listed at 6-foot-4 with a 6-foot-8 wingspan, he projects as a dynamic guard who can score at all three levels and create offense in a variety of ways.

Choosing Michigan State over Tennessee, NC State and Pitt, Jervis is the highest-ranked recruit in the class so far, with more potential commitments still to come. The Spartans have also been steadfast in their pursuit of the nation’s No. 1 center, five-star prospect Ethan Taylor.

Taylor took his official visit to MSU at the annual Izzone Campout and Midnight Madness, where fans chanted his name, offering a warm welcome to what would be the best recruit MSU has seen in years. He has not announced when he will commit yet.

The 2026 freshman class is setting up nicely for the Spartans. Medlock, a local product originally playing at Wayne Memorial, where he led his team to its first state final in program history, will have promising ball-handling and play-making abilities at point guard.

Avent, a 6-foot-7 power forward, averaged 14.5 points, 5.1 rebounds, 1.3 blocks and 1.3 assists, on his way to a state championship at Bergen Catholic. He will likely fill in for Coen Carr after his graduation this year.
