Following a road sweep of Notre Dame, No. 1 Michigan State hockey will host No. 7 Wisconsin in East Lansing. The games are set for Friday Nov. 21 at 8:30 p.m. EST and Saturday Nov. 22 at 7:00 p.m. EST on Big Ten Plus.

Wisconsin enters the series 8-2-2 overall and 4-2-2 in conference play after splitting its series with Ohio State last weekend, winning Game 2 in a 6-5 overtime thriller. The team’s only other loss came against No. 2 Michigan two weeks ago.

MSU holds a record of 9-1-0 and 4-0-0 in Big Ten competition after defeating the Irish 4-1 and 3-1 last weekend.

The teams’ last meeting was in January, and the rink looked a little different.

On Jan. 4, the Midwest foes met at Wrigley Field for the 2025 Big Ten Frozen Confines, where the Spartans earned a 4-3 overtime victory and senior forward Daniel Russel scored the game-winner.

Forward Gavin Morrissey leads the Badgers in points (13), scoring the game-winner in their recent win over Ohio State. Forward Christian Fitzgerald has a team-high eight goals, while forward Quinn Finley is another skater to watch. Last season, Finley posted a career-high 20 goals and 20 assists for 40 points. He also leads the team in shots (45) this season.

Forward Ben Dexheimer captains the Badgers, leading in assists (10). Dexheimer and senior forward Charlie Stramel spent two years at Wisconsin together before Stramel transferred to MSU.

Wisconsin will face junior netminder Trey Augustine, who led the conference in save percentage (.963) and goals-against average (1.01) last weekend. The goaltender holds a .948 save percentage and 1.32 GAA this season, third in the nation. Augustine has earned Big Ten First Star the last two weeks.

The Spartans are led by freshman forward Porter Martone (7-7—14) who scored both game-winning goals for MSU last weekend. Stramel assisted on both game winners and trails just behind Martone (5-8—13).

Daniel Hauser has been the only goaltender for the Badgers, owning a .913 and 2.14 GAA.  The freshman just posted a career-high 31 saves against OSU.
