Michigan State sophomore forward Xavier Booker (#34) takes a breather at the end of the start of halftime at the Breslin Center on January 28th, 2025.

Another Michigan State University men’s basketball player is on the move.

Sophomore forward Xavier Booker has entered the transfer portal, a team spokesperson confirmed Tuesday. On3 reported the news first.

The 6-foot-11 former five-star recruit averaged 4.7 points and 2.2 rebounds per game in 12.8 minutes during the 2024-25 season. Booker, who appeared in 33 games and started MSU's first three contests of the season, last saw the court in the Spartans’ Round of 64 win over Bryant en route to an Elite Eight appearance.

The Indianapolis, Ind., native has two years of eligibility remaining.

Booker, a McDonald’s All-American and consensus five-star prospect in the 2023 class, was MSU’s highest-rated recruit since Jaren Jackson Jr., according to 247Sports.

Booker is the third Spartan to enter the portal since MSU’s season ended Sunday, joining guards junior Tre Holloman and redshirt freshman Gehrig Normand.

Even though he entered the transfer portal, Booker still has the option to play for the Spartans next season.
