Michigan State football redshirt sophomore defensive lineman Ken Talley is entering the transfer portal, the former four-star recruit announced on Instagram Tuesday.
Three days after MSU's season ended, Talley is the first Spartan to enter the portal, which will open on Dec. 9.
Talley transferred to MSU from Penn State during the first month of the 2022 season, recruited by ex-head coach Mel Tucker.
In 2023, the redshirt freshman Talley played in five games. Throughout his time at MSU, Talley played in 15 games, tallying 11 tackles. The Philadelphia native recorded 1.5 sacks this season, including one against Prairie View A&M for a loss of 12 yards.
MSU will lose one of its rotation players on defense and a potential starter next season on the front seven. Talley has two years of eligibility remaining.
