Several community creatives and organizers will be coming together to host a drive-thru Halloween-themed extravaganza Oct. 24 from 7-10 p.m. in a parking ramp in downtown Lansing, 219 N. Grand Ave.

The “Carnival of the Creatives” was curated by The Artist's Umbrella and Opportunity Arts in partnership with Downtown Lansing Inc. and the City of Lansing.

“We are thankful for this chance to once again feature and compensate local artists from our region so they can demonstrate their talent to our community,” Brandon Navin, founder & executive director of The Artist’s Umbrella, said in the release.

The drive-thru event requires a $20 entry fee per vehicle. Participants will pay upon pulling into the ramp and a trick-or-treat baggy will be tied onto the passenger side mirror. A portion of the proceeds will go directly to the volunteers involved in the event’s success.

No vehicles taller than 6-feet, 7-inches will be able to attend, due to ramp height restrictions.

There will be multiple stations throughout the event where those volunteering will be able to contactlessly place wrapped candy in attendee’s assigned baggies.

“We want this event to not only be entertaining, but also ensure it adheres to COVID-19 safety guidelines,” Cathleen Edgerly, executive director of Downtown Lansing Inc., said in the release.

On top of the delectable treats that come in the form of chocolates and lollipops, attendees will also get to admire a variety of different performers decked out in spooky apparel and costumes from the comfort of their car.

The list includes musicians, dancers, body painters, visual artists, belly dancers, hula hoopers and fire spinners.

“With many other Halloween events being cancelled this year, combined with the positive reputation of the organizations involved, plus the ridiculously amazing talent possessed by our local artists and creatives participating in this event, it is definitely going to be something you are going to want to put on your calendar,” Mike Marriott, The Arts promoter and Opportunity Arts owner, said in the release. “This event is so unique and one of a kind, that it’s not only ‘can’t miss,’ it’s ‘must see!’”
