East Lansing Police are investigating a shooting after a man arrived at Sparrow Hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his foot Wednesday night, according to ELPD Interim Police Chief Steve Gonzalez.

The man said the incident occurred on the 1200 block of East Grand River Avenue. Gonzalez said he was not able to provide a suspect description as of last night.

Additionally, ELPD did not receive any 911 calls from the area.

"The area, from what I'm told, had several people there," Gonzalez said. "I think they were at the Tasty Twist, so we kind of would've expected that if there was a shooting right out front ... we would've gotten some calls."

The Tasty Twist is located at 1137 E. Grand River Ave.

At this time, ELPD is looking to locate the crime scene of this incident, Gonzalez said.

"Hopefully that will lead us to some information as far as how this occurred and lead us to a suspect," Gonzalez said.
