A Michigan State University Infrastructure Planning and Facilities employee is currently under investigation after members of the community shared a number of racist posts he made on Facebook.
University Spokesperson Emily Guerrant confirmed MSU is aware and is evaluating the options through the department of human resources, the Office of the General Counsel, and the Office of Institutional Equity.
The university was made aware from complaints that came in over the weekend, Guerrant said.
One Facebook post with screenshots of the employee's racist posts has over 700 shares, and a number of other posts have received attention as well calling for the employee to be fired. The employee's profile is no longer visible.
His profile had a number of check-ins to "white lives matter," where in one post he said, "No White guilt here! Never did anything to you! Bout to though!"
A few more of his posts referred to the Black Lives Matter movement. One read, "I'm going to go out and destroy any f---ing MLK statue I find! FU Black Lives ( dumb a--es) Matter! No you don't! Kiss my lilly white a--!" Another said, "I have no white guilt! I did absolutely nothing to you blacks!"
In another post, the employee shared a Brietbart News article about looting in Rochester, New York, where he said "Why do I want to kill these uncivilized chimps? You tell me!"
He also reacted negatively to a Brietbart News article about Nascar's ban of confederate flags.
The employee is an architectural and structural inspector at MSU and still working during this investigation.
