The housing assignments office notified on-campus residents April 3 of updated building access and operations information.

The email provided important updates to those who stayed on campus during the COVID-19 pandemic. It includes new information regarding dining hall hours and availability.

“Beginning on Monday (April 6), you will have access with your MSU ID card to your residence hall and the hall that houses your available dining hall,” the email read.

Brody Square and Thrive at Owen will remain open for all residents, however The Edge at Akers, The Vista at Shaw and South Pointe at Case will only be open for the residents in that neighborhood.

Also beginning on April 6, one service center will remain open in each neighborhood.

“Other Service Centers will continue to have the express check-out available in the building to return keys and complete move-out. … Residence Education staff continue to be on duty 7 p.m. – 7 a.m. when residents need assistance,” the email read. “These measures will help us further keep our students and staff safe.”

If you need to pick up packages and mail, check out or return rental items you can visit the designated service center, the available service centers are listed at liveon.msu.edu

Information on summer housing will be on the Live On website as well and emailed out to students sometime this week.

Facilities are also continuing cleaning efforts across campus with increased frequency of cleaning and disinfecting in public areas.

“This includes the use of disinfecting cleaning products on high-touch surfaces such as door handles and elevator buttons throughout the day, as well as increased touch-up cleaning and disinfection in public bathrooms,” the email read. “Additionally, teams are regularly disinfecting our dining facilities with Tersano O3 sanitizer, a water-based, antiviral cleaning solution. Community bathroom cleaning continues at cold/flu season levels.”
