Armed robbery near University Villages Apartment Complex

An armed robbery occurred at or near University Villages Apartment Complex, according to an alert issued by Michigan State University Police Department, or MSUPD, at 8:27 p.m. Jan. 2.

MSUPD received a call regarding a robbery involving a knife this evening.

The suspects are described as, "three black males. The first subject was a black male in his 20s, heavy set, with short black hair. The second subject was a black male in his 30s, no other description. The third subject was a black male, no other description. The three subjects left the area in a blue, four-door sedan," according to a Facebook post issued by MSUPD.

University Villages Apartment Complex is located at 550 S. Harrison Road.

MSUPD urges anyone who has witnessed suspicious activity or has knowledge of further information to call 911, according to the alert.

If in the area, MSUPD encourages citizens to use caution, according to the alert.

A representative from MSUPD was currently unavailable for comment.
