Southbound M.A.C. Avenue, as well as parts of the alley behind Grand River Avenue businesses, will close Tuesday, May 28, according to the City of East Lansing. The closures are to implement phase two of a water main replacement project, as part of the ongoing Center City district redevelopment project. The closure is expected to last two weeks.

The limited access to the alley will stretch from Lou and Harry's to M.A.C. Avenue. Traffic from M.A.C. Avenue will be detoured through Albert Avenue to southbound Charles Street.

In addition, beginning today, there will be intermittent lane closures on eastbound Grand River Avenue near the new HUB apartment complex on the corner of Grand River Avenue and Bogue Street. These lane closures are expected to last approximately three days, with crosswalks at the Grand River-Bogue intersection and sidewalks from Bogue to Cedar Street expected to be closed until August 1.
