Members of the MSU community hold up signs during the Board of Trustees meeting on Oct. 26, 2018.

A group representing the 168 “Wave 2” survivors of ex-Michigan State doctor Larry Nassar's abuse will attend the Board of Trustees meeting Jan. 17.

The group represents the survivors who were not included in the original settlement, which applied to the first 333 survivors.

There will be no public comment session, but the group will still attempt to voice its concerns over recent statements made by Interim President John Engler — who is expected to be fired at the meeting — about their cases.

“These survivors believe their cases have not received equal consideration and treatment,” a press release from the group said.

The civil cases of the second wave of survivors are pending in both federal and Michigan courts.

This story has been updated to confirm there will be no public comment session, as reported by the Lansing State Journal.
