Michigan State cancelled Thursday classes in response to severe wind chill and poor road conditions.

The university cancelled Wednesday classes due to dangerously low temperatures. Only critical employees would report to work today and tomorrow.

Monitoring of weather conditions will be continued by university officials and necessary updates will be provided. University operations are expected to return to normal Feb. 1, at 1 a.m.

MSU HealthTeam clinics will remain closed, but Student Health and Wellness services will remain in operation.

The University of Michigan, Central Michigan University, Eastern Michigan University among others have suspended classes for Thursday as well.

This is the seventh time MSU suspended classes due to snow in the 164-year history of the university.
