A day after Michigan State's defense had nine players earn All-Big Ten honors, only one Spartan was named an All-Big Ten offense honoree Wednesday evening.

Wide receiver Felton Davis III earned an All-Big Ten offense honorable mention by the coaches and media, after catching 31 passes for 474 yards and four touchdowns before tearing his left Achilles in the second quarter against Michigan Oct. 20. The 6-foot-4, 200-pound senior also ran twice for 50 yards and a touchdown — all against Northwestern on Oct. 6 — in his seven games played.

"Felton is not only a great player, but he is a great person, and he lifts people up around him and he brings energy to them, all of these guys," coach Mark Dantonio said after MSU's 14-10 win over Rutgers last Saturday. "When you lose a player, you lose some of your chemistry, but he has maintained that. Some of our other guys have maintained that as they have gone forward and I saw his little video, which I thought was outstanding."

This is the first time in Dantonio's 12-year tenure where an MSU offensive player didn't make first-, second- or third-team All-Big Ten.

The Spartans (7-5, 5-4 in Big Ten) ranks 13th in the Big Ten and 115th in the country in total offensive yards (343 yards per game), and are 13th in the Big Ten and tied for 122nd in the nation in scoring offense (19.8 points per game).

"You have to win at the point of attack on offense, and there were times we did that and times we didn't, probably, so you have to watch the film," Dantonio said.

Safety Khari Willis was also named as MSU's Big Ten Sportsmanship Award Honoree, after earning third-team All-Big Ten defense (media) and honorable mention (coaches) Tuesday night.

The Spartans now wait to see what bowl they'll play in, which will be announced Sunday.
