Debra Van Horn, a former USA Gymnastics athletic trainer who worked with ex-MSU doctor Larry Nassar, was arrested last week. She was arrested on one charge of second-degree sexual assault of a child. The charges were first filed in late June, according to an article by ESPN.

Van Horn worked with Nassar at Karolyi Ranch in Texas, the former training site for the USA Gymnastics National Team which has been closed and under investigation since January due to the sexual abuse that occurred at the facility.

ESPN reports that according to the indictment issued in June, Van Horn is accused of "acting as a party with one or more individuals." During Nassar's sentencing hearing in January, former national team gymnast Mattie Larson said Van Horn was in the room while Nassar assaulted her, and that she did nothing.

In relation to Nassar's sexual abuse case, Van Horn is the first of his colleagues charged with an assault crime. Her first court date is Sept. 24.

Other colleagues of Nassar that have been charged with crimes stemming from the investigation include ex-Dean of the MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine William Strampel and former MSU gymnastics head coach Kathie Klages
