Michigan’s primary elections will take place Aug. 7. These elections will determine who'll be on the ballot for positions like governor and U.S. Senate member in the November election.

Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette, Lt. Governor Brian Calley, state Senate member Patrick Colbeck and physician Jim Hines are all running for the position of governor in the state of Michigan.

Schuette’s list of endorsements include President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence.

In March, Calley was endorsed by current Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder, while Colbeck’s most notable endorsement comes from U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz.

Jim Hines was endorsed by Right to Life of Michigan Political Action Committee, an organization that also endorsed all three other Republican gubernatorial candidates.

“I’m proud to endorse Patrick Colbeck in the race to become Michigan’s next Governor. He is exactly the sort of principled leader the citizens of Michigan need," Cruz said. "Patrick is a champion of the grassroots, and is committed to promoting principled solutions on  important issues like jobs, taxes, and health care that will benefit everyone."

Democrat Debbie Stabenow is the only U.S. senator from Michigan who is up for re-election in 2018. Her seat will be challenged by Republicans John James and Sandy Pensler.

President Trump endorsed James in a tweet on July 27, 2018.

James has also received an endorsement from Florida senator and former presidential candidate Marco Rubio in a YouTube video posted by James on Dec. 5, 2017.

U.S. senatorial candidate Sandy Pensler has been endorsed by Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, according to Fox 17.
