A university investigation concluded that Scott Westerman, former associate vice president for alumni relations and executive director of the MSU Alumni Association, violated university policy.

An investigation was launched after a complaint was filed against Westerman through the Office for Institutional Equity, MSU's Title IX Office, in February.

According to a university statement from MSU spokesperson Emily Guerrant, this investigation has concluded. In an email, Guerrant said the investigation wrapped up last week.

In April, Westerman "notified MSU leadership of his resignation effective July 31" while he was under investigation, according to the statement from the university. His resignation letter indicated that he was leaving East Lansing in order to move to Florida to be closer with family.

"While the investigation did determine Westerman violated university policy no disciplinary action will be taken as he is no longer employed by MSU," the statement said.
