VIDEO: Teal signs of support cover MSU's campus

February 19, 2018

Teal, the color for sexual assault awareness and survivors, can be found across MSU's campus in light of recent events. Ribbons and posters can be found everywhere, from the Communication Arts and Sciences Building to the Hannah Administration Building to the trees outside.

After being contacted by the mother of a survivor, education junior Mackenzie Mrla tied teal ribbons around the trees surrounding the Hannah Administration Building, where the Board of Trustees meetings take place. Though she is not the only force behind all of the teal on campus, she is a part of the effort to support sexual assault survivors.

“It kind of feels like our campus is really not doing much for sexual assault, but then seeing all the teal and support makes you realize that it's not Spartans that are doing this, it is our administration,” Mrla said.
