Ex-doctor Larry Nassar's preliminary examination hearing for the 55th District Court in Ingham County began Friday. The preliminary examination is being held to determine if there is enough evidence for Nassar to stand on trial for the 15 first-degree sexual assault charges against him in this court.
On Friday, three alleged victims testified against Nassar before Judge Donald Allen Jr.
The first was Rachael Denhollander, or "Victim C" as she is identified in court documents. The 32-year-old from Kentucky previously filed a criminal complaint against Nassar with MSU police and was featured in the article that brought Nassar into the limelight for the first time.
The second woman to testify is identified in court records as "Victim G" and is now 22 years old. She received treatments by Nassar at Twistars USA Gymnastics Club and in the basement of his home in Holt. Mich.
The third testimony came from "Victim D" as she is referred to in court records. She is a minor and is now 16 years old. She received treatment from Nassar up until he was discharged from the university in September. She testifies Nassar did not treat her with a chaperone in the room as required by a 2014 Title IX investigation from MSU's Office of Institutional Equity.
The preliminary examination will continue May 26 and, if need be, June 23. It is expected that there are four more testimonies to come to court. The final determination will come on one of the two additional dates scheduled for the preliminary examination.

Former USA Gymnastics president Steve Penny will attend the Indianapolis 500 after his deposition in a Nassar-related case was delayed so he could attend the event to "network and find a new job."
The delay was approved by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Susan Bryant-Deason after Penny's legal team told her he needed to attend the Indianapolis 500 to attend the race to look for new opportunities.
Penny resigned from his position as president of USA Gymnastics after criticism for how he and his organization handled allegations of sexual assault.

The seven women testifying against Nassar in the preliminary examination hearing are identified as Victims A through G in court records. All seven women say Nassar abused them when they were between the ages of 10 to 15 years old.

55th District Court Judge Donald Allen Jr. ruled to restrict courtroom access for Nassar's preliminary examination hearing for six out of seven of the testimonies. The testimony with no restriction was at the request of plaintiff Rachael Denhollander.
These restrictions came as a request of the Michigan Attorney General's office last month.

Nassar will no longer defend himself against the allegations of sexual assault listed in a civil complaint from 20 plaintiffs, according to Mick S. Grewal, an attorney in the case whose office represents 28 alleged survivors.
Nassar gave up his right to defend himself against the allegations by failing to respond to the complaint, an action known as defaulting.
