WASHINGTON, D.C. — In game No. 9 in the Big Ten Tournament, the Wisconsin Badgers defeated the Indiana Hoosiers, 70-60.

It was the Badgers' first taste of the tournament, earning a double-bye because of their record in the regular season.

The Hoosiers used their great shooting ability to blow out Iowa on day two on the tournament. However, the Badgers would flex their shooting ability against the Hoosiers.

As a team, the Badgers shot 47 percent from the floor, the Hoosiers 41 percent.

D'Mitrik Trice, Zak Showalter and Bronson Koenig were lethal from deep, combining for 41 points, largely from 3-pointers.

Ethan Happ and Nigel Hayes had a different approach, post up, spin move and finish. Happ and Hayes combined for 24 points.

The Hoosiers kept the score reasonably close, but failed to complete the comeback. Indiana was able to spark a little worry from Wisconsin fans, pulling the score to four points with one minute left. Wisconsin immediately responded with a basket and steal to put them firmly ahead.

Wisconsin will play the winner of Northwestern and Maryland tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. in the semifinals. That game will be televised on CBS.
