As of 2:17 p.m. Wednesday, 83 of 83 counties were reported for the statewide MSU Board of Trustees race, according to Michigan Secretary of State. Democratic candidate Dianne Byrum and Republican candidate Dan Kelly won the election. Byrum received 23.94 percent of the vote and Kelly received 24.13 percent of the vote.

Opponents included Democratic incumbent Diann Woodard, who received 22.66 percent of the vote and Republican candidate William Deary, who received 22.40 percent.
