Poster with false voter info reportedly circulating on campus

November 8, 2016

A poster with false voter information has been reportedly circulating on campus. The poster has also popped up on social media.

"You cannot vote online," MSU College Democrats said in a post on Facebook. "These flyers being distributed on campus are false."

The poster encourages supporters of Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton to try voting on Facebook or Twitter instead of heading to the polls.

Morris Arvoy, communications manager for the Division of Student Affairs and Services at MSU, confirmed reports of the poster on campus. Arvoy also said the poster contains false information.

"People obviously can't vote by text," Arvoy said. "You have to go to your polling locations to vote."
