To combat the struggle of over priced bikes and 25-minute walks to class, the MSU Surplus Store is having their annual used bike sale this Friday.
From 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., students will have the opportunity to buy used bikes for prices as low as $15.
Selections of bikes range from road bikes, mountain bikes, and comfort bikes. The sale will have bikes that could be found at Wal-Mart and some that could be found at a high-end bike store.
There will be about 500 bikes available on a first come, first serve basis. The Surplus Store receives the bikes from those that are impounded by the MSU police.
“The surplus store sells anything that MSU no longer needs such as impounded bikes that no one picks up,” said Tom March, the surplus store, recycle center and MSU bikes sale manager.
The store is located off campus at 468 Green Way, between Farm Lane and Recycling Drive.
The MSU surplus store usually holds four to five bikes sales throughout the year, depending on when they’re given a batch of bikes. There will only be two sales this year, this past spring sale and the upcoming fall sale.
