Violinist, speaker Kai Kight to present at MSU Wednesday

October 14, 2014

Using his violin as a metaphor for creativity, world-class violinist Kai Kight uses his music to remind people they have the capacity to present their unique ideas to the world.

On Wednesday, Oct. 15, Kight will perform original compositions then share useful skills when it comes to innovating ideas. The presentation begins at 6:00 p.m. and will take place in Room N100 of the Broad Business Complex. The event is free.

Kight trained as a violinist for 20 years, according to his website. During his time at Stanford University, he focused on studies in design and engineering. He soon realized in order to penetrate the field of violinists, he had to innovate classical music in a way that appeals to today’s audience. Kight began composing his music by synthesizing classical music with popular genres.

Kight has presented his skills to organizations and businesses to inspire them and has performed at landmarks such as The White House and The Great Wall of China.

Apart from his musical talents, he uses his words to generate interdisciplinary thinking, highlighting the areas where art, technology and business intersect.

President of MSU Entrepreneurship Association history senior Bernie Eisbrenner said Kight enjoys presenting to students.

“He tries getting college students and young people to take up a life of entrepreneurship and innovation in general.” Eisbrenner said.

All students and faculty are welcome to see Kight demonstrate entrepreneurship through his music.
