The event will not be open to the public, but will be available to watch online.
His visit to the university will consist of remarks at the Mary Anne McPhail Equine Performance Center Friday afternoon, followed by a signing of the recently-passed Agriculture Act of 2014.

President Barack Obama will be visiting MSU’s Mary Anne McPhail Equine Performance Center on Friday in the early afternoon to sign the recently passed farm bill into law, according to a Michigan Democratic source.
The White House has not released further specifics about the visit.
The Michigan Farm Bureau told MLive that the President will be meeting with area farmers.
According to a representative from the bureau, immigration reform will be the topic of the President’s visit with the farmers.
MSU officials said they have “nothing to confirm.”
It still is unclear if the event will be open to students.
