The women’s basketball team bounced back from a tough loss against No. 13 Oklahoma State on Friday, defeating Georgetown 67-54 in its second and last game of the Puerto Rico Classic.
Redshirt freshman guard Aerial Powers led MSU with 14 points, and junior guard Kiana Johnson had 10 assists.
The Spartans went on an 11-2 run in the final three minutes of the first half to jump to a 36-27 lead at halftime.
A 9-2 run with 7:37 remaining help MSU to a 47-39 lead, and they cruised to a win.
MSU now is 7-5 and went 1-1 in the Puerto Rico Classic. The Spartans will return to action on Dec. 29, hosting Colgate at Breslin Center at 2 p.m. Colgate will be MSU’s last non-conference opponent before Big Ten season begins.
