East Lansing residents still are seeing the effects of this weekend’s winter storm, including power outages and fallen trees or limbs.
The landscape services team for MSU Infrastructure Planning and Facilities, or IPF, estimate in a statement that the cleanup of fallen trees could take weeks to complete, with more branches likely to fall due to the weight of snow and ice.
Many residents still remain without power. As a result, the Red Cross has established warming centers throughout mid-Michigan.
An official with East Lansing Fire Department told The State News damage to residents’ homes as a result of the storm has been relatively minimal.
