This week marks the middle of the semester. Rather than letting the studying blues hit, take a break at one of these events.

William Shakespeare’s Land of the Dead

Running through Oct. 20

Take part in the zombie fever by attending a bloody comedy this week at Wharton Center’s Pasant Theatre. The show raises the question of what would have happened if the bubonic plague turned its victims into zombies. It combines history, Shakespeare and a zombie apocalypse.

Student tickets are $10 for regular seating and $13 for Splash Zone seating

Study with the Lights Out: Electrify Africa

Wednesday, Oct. 16, 8-9 p.m.

Join students at the rock on Farm Lane to raise awareness of the difficulties students in sub-Saharan Africa face. Students will have an hour-long candle-lit study session, write letters to Congress and raise awareness of the need to improve African development.

Glow in the dark dodgeball

Thursday, Oct. 17, 8-11 p.m.

The University Activities Board is hosting a glow in the dark dodgeball tournament in IM Sports-Circle. To compete in the tournament, students must register in a team of six. There is a limit of 32 teams. Free T-shirts and glow sticks will be available as long as supplies last.

Johnny Mathis

Thursday, Oct. 17, 7:30 p.m.

Johnny Mathis, a classic American singer, is taking the stage in Wharton Center’s Cobb Great Hall. Mathis has had numerous Top 40 songs and has sold more than 350 million records worldwide. He sings jazz, pop and country music.

Student tickets are $15

T-Zank

Friday, Oct. 18, doors open at 9 p.m.

Rapper Taylor Zank will be performing at The Loft this Friday night. Zank, an Indiana-native, typically raps about everyday problems and has performed alongside Tech N9ne and Machine Gun Kelly.

Tickets are $5 in advance and $7 day of show
