MSU community on social media recalls Sept. 11, 2001

September 11, 2013

On the 12th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001, people across the country and in the MSU community recalled attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon, and United Flight 93’s crash in Pennsylvania.

In honor of those killed in the attacks, a ceremony was held at the Pentagon and President Barack Obama observed a moment of silence on the South Lawn of the White House. In New York, names of the victims were read at the National September 11 Memorial plaza and in Pennsylvania, bell rang in memory.

Still, students across MSU’s campus commemorated the day further with service projects, events, moments of silence and painting the rock, while other members of the MSU community responded via social media.

Community members recalled the residence halls, buildings and classes they were in when the four planes crashed on Sept. 11, 2001.
