Minor electrical fire briefly shuts down local Taco Bell

April 29, 2013

A minor electrical fire took place at Taco Bell, 601 E Grand River Ave, Monday afternoon around 4 p.m.

A cord shorted out in an outlet which started some sparks. There was not enough smoke to activate the fire alarms and the East Lansing Fire Department was able to get there and unplug the cord before any major damage was done, East Lansing Fire Capt. Greg Baker said.

The Taco Bell was shut down for a few hours while the Public Health Department made sure that everything is safe to resume normal operations.
