Purse stolen containing contents worth $4,500

April 16, 2012

A 22-year-old woman from Holt, Mich. reported her purse and its contents were stolen between 4-5 p.m. April 10 from the basement of Kresge Art Center, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.

The woman told police she had set the purse on a bench in the hallway near the southeast exit while she was setting up a display, leaving it out of sight multiple times, McGlothian-Taylor said.

When the woman returned, her purse was nowhere to be found.

The Rebecca Minkoff purse was valued at $500 and contained at least $4,000 worth of items, including a $600 Louis Vuitton wallet, a $300 Louis Vuitton coin purse, $100 in cash and a platinum diamond ring valued at $3,000.

There are no suspects, and the incident is under investigation.
