Alexandra Pew, an 18-year-old high school senior from Ann Arbor who fell from the sixth floor of North Case Hall last week, has been released from Lansing’s Sparrow Hospital, a hospital spokeswoman confirmed.
Pew fell out of a window in one of the dorm’s sixth floor study lounges at about 3 a.m. March 25 while playing catch with friends she was visiting at MSU. The incident likely was an accident, according to the MSU Police Department.
The university has replaced the window through which Pew fell, and an inspection showed the structural integrity of the window and its frame was sound, according to a statement from university spokesman Kent Cassella.
A thorough inspection of all other residence hall windows is expected to be complete by the end of summer.
